The office of the inspector of the main boiler is a technical office under the control of the Ministry of Industry. The Department has been making a significant contribution to the industrialization of the country by ensuring the safe operation of boilers in the industrial factories and the safety of the life and property associated with the boilers.
The boiler is a major instrument or life form in the boiler-based industrial factory. Boilers are commonly used in all industrial factories. Among them are a thermal power plant, a chemical company, fertilizer factory, paper mill, sugar mill, pharmaceutical factory, jute mill, cotton mills, textile mills, and garments factory.
First, the Boiler Act was introduced in the whole of the Indian subcontinent in the year 1923. In this connection, the Boiler Inspection Office was established in Calcutta in 1924 AD. After the division of the country in 1947, the Boiler Inspection Office was transferred to East Pakistan. Then in 1961, the Boiler Inspection Department started work under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Up to the present time the boiler inspection office is being operated under the Ministry of Industry. To ensure the safe operation of the boiler, the officer inspects the boiler inspection, registration, and test boiler operators according to the following laws and regulations.
